Tips for Using Fume Purifiers
2025-11-29 09:32:28

Using Fume purifiers efficiently can improve purification effects, extend equipment life, and reduce energy consumption and maintenance costs. Below are practical tips from three dimensions: startup, operation optimization, and daily operation, applicable to high-powered commercial and household equipment in the catering industry.

I. Start-up and Shutdown Techniques

1. Follow the "Turn on First, Turn Off Later" Principle

When starting up: First turn on the fume purifier power and wait 3-5 minutes (to allow the high-voltage electric field or filter components to reach a stable working state), then turn on the range hood and stove.

When turning off: First turn off the stove, continue running the range hood and purifier for 5-10 minutes to thoroughly remove residual fumes, then turn off the purifier power.

Purpose: To prevent unpurified fumes from being directly emitted and to prevent fumes from flowing back into the duct and adhering to the purification components after shutdown. 2. Avoid running the purifier without oil fumes (e.g., when the kitchen is closed or during cooking breaks). Turn it off promptly to reduce idle wear and tear, lower electricity costs, and prevent the electric field or filter from aging prematurely due to prolonged standby.

II. Operational Optimization Techniques

1. Control Cooking Fumes to Reduce Purification Load

(1) Avoid excessively high oil temperatures when stir-frying (ideally below 180℃) to reduce fumes and prevent the purifier from failing to meet purification standards or triggering alarms due to excessively high instantaneous fume concentration.

(2) When multiple stoves are operating simultaneously, if the purifier is zoned, activate the corresponding zone as needed to avoid energy waste from overloading.

2. Ensure Smooth Ventilation to Improve Purification Efficiency

(1) Keep the connecting pipes between the purifier and the range hood clear, avoiding bends and blockages, to ensure that fumes can quickly enter the purifier. (2) Regularly check the air outlet for obstructions (such as debris or wall obstructions) to prevent excessive exhaust resistance, which could lead to decreased purification efficiency and increased equipment noise.

3. Monitor operating status and address abnormalities promptly.

(1) Commercial air purifiers are usually equipped with indicator lights or displays. If a red light alarm, abnormal noise, or unusual odor occurs during operation, immediately stop the machine for inspection. Common causes include excessive oil accumulation in the electric field, filter blockage, and circuit malfunction. Avoid escalating the problem.

(2) If a household air purifier experiences a decrease in purification efficiency (such as increased kitchen fumes), promptly check if the filter is saturated and do not continue to use it.

III. Daily Operation and Maintenance Techniques

1. Timing of Filter/Electrostatic Field Cleaning

(1) Household filter-type air purifiers: Depending on usage frequency, it is recommended to clean the filter once every 1-2 weeks. For households with high levels of oil fumes, this can be shortened to 3-5 days. If the filter is washable, it must be completely dried before installation to prevent bacterial growth. (2) Commercial electrostatic purifiers: Clean the electric field at least once a week. Disconnect the power supply during cleaning, soak the purifier in a special cleaning agent, rinse, and remove oil stains from the electric field plates. Allow it to dry completely before resetting. Otherwise, oil buildup will cause a sharp drop in purification efficiency and may even pose a fire hazard.

2. Regularly check sealing and connection components. Regularly check the purifier's door seals and pipe connections for looseness or damage to prevent oil fume leakage. If a leak is found, replace the seals or tighten the screws promptly to prevent unpurified oil fumes from leaking and polluting the environment.

3. Avoid improper operation and protect core components.

(1) Do not open the door or inspection port while the purifier is running to prevent the risk of electric shock from the high-voltage electric field (most commercial electrostatic purifiers have power-off protection, but improper operation should still be avoided).

(2) Do not touch the power switch or control panel with wet hands to prevent short circuits; the power must be completely disconnected when cleaning the equipment, and operation should only resume after the equipment has cooled down.
